When you ask someone what they think of as “Indian” coffee, the answer is usually: Chai. Indico Coffee Co. plans on infusing Southern Indian coffee plates- filter coffee, chicory, cardamon, wood- with everyday favourites such as lattes, cappuccinos and espressos that New Yorkers enjoy. There is nothing I get more excited about than making a cup of coffee. While working at a trading desk a year ago, I fuelled my free mornings by making coffee recipes from my apartment. From filter coffee pistachio lattes to smooth espresso shots- each creation was a hit with family and friends. My hobby turned passion pushed me to pursue an opportunity where I could cater to my community.

Indico Coffee Co. specializes in roasting aromatic beans from the Southern Indian coast and bringing them to NYC where I plan on showing: How we accentuate unique flavours and serve the community a great, bold cup of coffee, every day. Indico is a NYC local brand that sells everyday lattes, cappuccinos, espressos as well as specialty lattes that I have been serving loved ones for years. We also plan on selling regular and specialty pastries: croissants, muffins, rose infused cookies, cashew/saffron cookies, pistachio pasties, carrot cakes, etc. There is no other business in New York that provides South Indian coffee profiles, flavours that half a billion people in India enjoy daily. My vision for Indico is to share a piece of culture that has existed for thousands of years and to enhance.
